Klodian Duro dreams of being the coach of the Albanian National Team. The former midfielder spoke exclusively to the "Sport News" show on "News 24" about his relationship with the president of the Albanian Football Association, Armand Duka, as well as his belief that with Duro as coach we will go to the World Cup.
Two national teams and one nation, both stopped in the play-off phase of the World Cup. Who were you sadder for? Where did you have the most expectations?
For both of our representatives, we were very close to realizing the dream. We should have been happy if one of them went to the World Cup. Unfortunately, neither of them made it, even though we were very close to realizing the dream.
Italy didn't even qualify for the World Cup for the third time in a row, so why did the defeat in Poland leave us with such a bad taste?
We were close. Knowing the opponents, they were passable. Sweden goes to the World Cup, having finished without a single win, with only 2 points. This means that the form of Poland, like that of Sweden, was not the best possible.
There was a big discussion about Silvinho's choices, before and during the match. Is Silvinho primarily responsible for the elimination, or should the bill for this disappointment be shared?
In football, when you lose, especially since we lost twice, the biggest bill goes to the coach, this is a law in principle in football. Silvinjo is a great professional, he did well in the qualifiers, in this recent period, that victory in Serbia was the biggest. In the initial formation, I thought that he would not make changes in the placement and players. That is, with a 4-3-3, focused on defense initially and then what will bring in the offensive phase. The moment you have offensive potential, you have to use it. In the national team there is no fixed formation.
Muçi and Mehmeti? While you have them, you should use them. Instead of giving them 15-20 minutes, give them 45 minutes. If I compare them to the qualifiers that were held earlier, instead of moving forward, we took steps back. The change I noticed is that we played with 3 stable midfielders.
The main topic of this debate was Ernest Muçi, a player who actually resembles you, a number 10, a player with a lot of class. He was slightly activated against Poland, while he left the group due to injury, but he is training regularly with Trabzonspor and is expected to be on the field against Galatasaray at the weekend. Is there a “Muçi” issue in the National Team? Are we doing the wrong thing with this talent?
Muçi may have a problem for us, we like him. The coach says he will invite those who are in better shape, this does not happen in the game. The player in the best shape so far has been Ernest Muçi, with full minutes at Trabzon. Muçi can play all the roles in the offensive, that's how he played at his club. Coach Fatih Teke has given him confidence and something like that has translated into goals. If Muçi would keep him around and activate him in a familiar field like Warsaw, he would certainly do well. Here Silvinjo insisted a lot on his defensive mindset.
In 3 years at the helm of the national team, Silvinjo took us to the European Championship and the World Cup play-offs. In your opinion, is this a positive cycle, or more precisely, how would you rate it?
Silvinjo has given everything of himself, he is new on the European scene, with little experience. He was given a golden opportunity, we are a national team that participates in the European qualifiers. You have the opportunity to grow your career, a well-known player, parallel to what you are doing for the national team, also develop your career as a coach. He has been lucky to have a wide range of players. I think he has taken a step back, after playing differently at the beginning, then he changed again.
Hold on, I have a direct question, for which I want a direct answer. Should we continue with Silvinjo?
I think Silvinho needs a fresh start. He has done well and I am sure that in the future he has the opportunity to manage a club. I think there will be good continuity in the football market.
Klod, you are also active on social networks, often going viral. Recently, you have expressed your desire to be in charge of the National team. Is it really an ambition of yours? Or simply the desire of a former player who has given a lot to the representative team?
The moment I finished playing football, I started my career as a coach. In my first steps, I coached in Albania, with a team like Kukësi we entered the European Cups and in parallel we won the Albanian Cup. When I started my career, my dream was to one day be on the bench of the national team.
You know that to get to that post, you have to go through the Duke first. Have you talked? Have you had any contact or is he aware of your desire. Are you going to send him a long-distance text message now?
Presidenti Duka i njeh mirë gjërat që rrotullohen rreth futbollit. Jam ndër të parët që jam njohur me Dukën, kemi punuar bashkë në ato suksese të ekipit kombëtar. Unë si lojtar, bashkë me gjithë shokët e mi, kemi marrë fitore të mëdha, si ato me Greqinë kampione Europe, Rusinë, me Suedinë, me Portugalinë e Holandën. Ne u rritëm bashkë, edhe ne si kombëtare por edhe Duka mori eksperiencë. Duka ka vazhduar po i njëjti në Federatë, ka meritë të madhe për sukseset e Shqipërisë, kemi një stadium për të patur zili. Duke qënë se kemi arritur dy herë në Europian, tani është zëvendes-president i UEFA, siç thashë e njeh më mirë se kushdo ambientin e futbollit shqiptar. Unë kam qënë ndër të paktët, që kur Duka vinte në hotel, thoshte ku është Duro? Kohën më të madhe e kaloja me Presidentin Duka.
Më bëri përshtypje një koment i legjendës Vasil Ruci në “News 24”, i pyetur nëse ishte pro apo kundër idesë për të patur në krye të kombëtares një trajner shqiptar. Vendosni kë të doni u shpreh, mjafton të jetë inteligjent. Ju si mendoni a ka ardhur koha për një trajner shqiptar?
Unë besoj që ka ardhur koha, në fillimet e tij i kam dhënë të drejtë Dukës. Në fillim shkolla e trajnimit nuk kishte këto kushte që ka sot. Sot jemi të licensuar në UEFA, Federata është rritur në nivel. Ka ardhur koha që kjo federatë të prodhojë trajner për ekipin kombëtar. Unë mendoj që me lojtarët që ka Shqipëria, jam i bindur që çdo vit e dërgojmë në Europian dhe e dërgojmë në botëror për herë të parë.
Jemi te Kosova. U eliminuan në hapin e fundit, por në Kosovë po i trajtojnë si heronj, madje u dekoruan. Shkurtimisht, si e sheh të tashmen dhe të ardhmen e Kosovës?
Kosova ka bërë hapa të shpejtë si nivel futbolli, për të mos thënë që është një hap më lart se ne. Ka avancuar shumë. Ka ndërruar shumë trajnerë, por me Fodan ka krijuar stabilitet.
Në ndryshim nga ne, Kosova me në krye Fodan ka shfrytëzuar potencialin e lojtarëve. Gallapeni luante me Prishtinën një vit më përpara, është 19-vjeçar dhe ishte kryesori në fushë. Ndaj Sllovakisë Hoxha luante, ndeshjen e parë dhe realizoi golin e parë. Kosova ka shfrytëzuar më mirë se ne elementët e rinj. Ne nuk kemi arritur dot të aktivizojmë të rinjtë, pasi Sylvinho ka qëndruar besnik i filozofisë së tij.
Sigurisht, si shqiptar që janë edhe ata, po bëjnë zhurmë, akuzat ndaj Vedat Muriqit, më shumë se sa akuzat e një tifozi të rëndomtë, të shqetëson hapësira që iu dha një personi anonim. U përfshitë edhe ju në distancë në një diskutim të tillë…
Të gjithë mund të japin opinione, mendime por në fund vlen ajo që thonë ata që e dijnë çfarë ndodh në fushë, ato që kanë luajtur në nivel superior dhe njerëzit që merren me atë punë. Vedati është i prekur por kushdo mund të flasë budallallëqet e veta, por nuk duhet t’i japim rëndësi njerëzve të pavlerë. Muriqi luan në Spanjë dhe është golashënuesi i dytë më i mirë, ai mban lart emrin e Kosovës në një vend që nuk e njeh Kosovën.

I plasi trapi nje Italiani e Braziliani per Shqiperine. Vetem Shqiptari e kupton mire se ne qoftese supozojme, fiton Kupen e Botes do i ngrihet Monumenti ne Sheshin Skenderbej e jam i sigurte 100% qe nuk do i pranoje parate para Monumentit. Si more kodoshe te kodosheve, Shqiptaret po komandoijne klube ne Itali psh., e keta langot e favelave te Brazilit qe s'kane marre kupa prej kohesh e langot e Italise famoze qe kane 3 kampionate boterore e nuk marrin pjese? Si Nuk e kupton populli Shqiptar (il popolo Albanese) qe me mama mia njerez do arrije dicka. Mos harrojme se djemte tane futbolliste te mrekullueshem po luajne ne te gjitha Ligat e Europes e po te behemi bashke do fitojme te gjitha betejat si Skenderbeu legjendar. Njeriu ne jete mund te humbase cdo gje. E cfare, pune e madhe, por vetem shpirtin kurre te mos e humbe.
