"The crutch that keeps Rama in power", Salianji: Berisha should listen
Former MP, Ervin Salianji

Former MP Ervin Salianji has called Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha a crutch that keeps Prime Minister Edi Rama in power. For this reason, Salianji says Berisha should resign to pave the way for Rama's overthrow.

He emphasized that today Berisha is an obstacle to the overthrow of Rama and this is precisely the reason why the protest also calls against him. Salianji reads the protest as a movement that is exposing the Rama-Berisha co-government.

"Berisha has turned the party into a business for personal interest, which has blocked the hope for change. And that is why this protest also has a reaction against the DP. Berisha today is an obstacle to overthrowing Rama. Even today, since this protest is so massive and energetic, citizens, some of whom were not DP voters, have been inspired to remove Berisha as an obstacle to bringing about change. Rama's advantage is Berisha. Berisha is older than Rama, with more international problems. Rama has problems with power, as documented by SPAK, but Albanian citizens cannot refuse to be imposed between two evils. Citizens are exposing the Rama-Berisha co-government and are hitting the Rama-Berisha regime to the core ," Salianji said on the show "Today Live in Albania".

Salianji further said that if Berisha supports the protesters' demands, then he should resign because this is also one of the citizens' demands.

"A myth is being dispelled that Albanians do not stand up. They organized themselves and the citizens are laying the foundation for a business system with two partners. People are standing up for their problems, not because he hit me there, because he didn't give me permission a little while ago. Each one is standing up for his own problem, basically they are standing up and standing up for fundamental rights and freedoms. These politically Rama is overthrown, or Berisha is gone. In theory, but also with what history has shown, governments are overthrown with mass peaceful protests. In an autocracy, everyone holds it by force, these people cling to their chairs and don't move. Therefore, there must be enough participation for them to leave. This morning he curses the protesters, in the afternoon he says I agree with their demands. I resign, if you are with them. When the autocrat does not withdraw, the opposition leader must set an example. He said I join the protesters' demands. The demands are for Rama and Berisha to leave ," said Salianji.

Salianji also sees the participation of Democratic MPs in the protest as a way for them to demand Berisha's resignation and open the race for a new leader at the helm of the Democrats.

"The Democrats who take to the streets are democrats who join the calls for Berisha's removal. Even the MPs who go there do not directly tell him to leave, but they tell him indirectly by participating in the protest. Today, the crutch that keeps Rama there is Berisha. Rama uses him as a gogol, it's fine if I leave, but who will come as a gogol. I watch and hope that Rama will listen to the calls of the citizens and resign, and that Berisha will also listen to them in order to accelerate Rama's downfall. Today we are in a situation where the citizens' call for Rama's removal must be heard and echoed ," continued Salianji.
