The democratic leader has reacted to the citizen protests, which have been taking place for 36 days and which demand the removal of the political class, which they hold responsible for the prolonged transition the country is going through.
One of the main slogans of the protest is "Rama in prison, Berisha in prison", but for the democratic leader these are cries of those he considered the opposition of the opposition.
"There are some cries, attempts by the opposition of the opposition, a real tool of the government, which thinks that it cannot grow as an opposition with the presence of Sali Berisha for the sole fact that they are a fake opposition. For the sole fact that they are flirting. So they are using this protest for a slogan or slogans like that," said Berisha.
The democratic leader then stated that the DP and its allies strongly support the protest, but do not interfere in its affairs.
"Our position has been from the beginning and you should be very clear about what I declare, I never change from that. No interference in her affairs."
It is not our protest, and law and morality should be ruthless towards those who try to seize or manipulate that protest from young Albanians.

The protest has received international support from the People's Party that currently governs Europe, the most powerful party in the European political spectrum today.
