Prime Minister Edi Rama declared that the next NATO summit will take place in Albania, explaining why this was not included in the final communiqué of the recently held Alliance Summit.
During an interview with CNN TÜRK, Rama was asked about claims that Albania will host the next NATO summit.
He recalled that Albania and Turkey were mentioned as possible host countries in the final communiqué of the previous summit, emphasizing that the issue is now clear.
According to the head of government, the NATO Secretary General himself has made it public that the next summit will take place in Albania.
"The Secretary-General also stated at the press conference that the next summit will be held in Albania. The only reason why this was not included in the communiqué is that there are still ongoing discussions about the schedule between the parties ," Rama said.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the absence of this announcement in the final communiqué is not related to any change in decision-making by the Alliance, but to the process of coordination and planning of the date of the summit among member countries.
Rama also praised Turkey's organization of the summit, emphasizing that Ankara's hospitality and organizational skills were at the level of an important NATO ally.
The interview took place on the eve of Rama's visit to Turkey, where the focus is on bilateral relations, cooperation in the field of defense, developments in the Balkans and other issues of common interest.
