Ricardo Calafiori's transfer to Arsenal is expected to be investigated by a group of lawyers according to a new report. "The Gunners" are in the final stage of closing the transfer of Kalafiori for an amount that is expected to be somewhere around 42 million euros.
Bologna have so far prevented the transfer due to numerous discussions about the payment structure and the player's clause. As part of the deal, Kalafiori's former club Basel will earn 50 percent of the amount Bologna will earn from the Italian's sale.
However, Roma, one of his former clubs, are not happy with the financial aspect of the deal and in particular they are not happy with Basel, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
This problem has already become a legal issue between Rome and Basel and may require court intervention. Roma believe they should earn 6.7 million euros from this transfer due to the clause they had in the agreement when Basel transferred Kalafiori.
In the summer of 2022, Kalafiori joined the Swiss team for 2 million euros and the Italian team, according to the agreement, would keep 40 percent of his future sales. Basel sold him to Bologna for 3.4 million euros, while Roma received 1 million euros from this deal.
The lawyers of both clubs are now trying to find a solution to the situation, as the player is waiting for the completion of the transfer to Arsenal.
