Phone call, Trump asks Netanyahu to withdraw troops from Syria and Lebanon
Trump-Netanyahu

United States President Donald Trump has asked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to begin withdrawing its troops from Syria and Lebanon, Axios reported, citing informed sources.

According to the report, the message was conveyed during a phone conversation between the two leaders held last Thursday.

Trump has told Netanyahu that the presence of the Israeli military on Syrian territory is creating tensions and could lead to a new escalation of the conflict.

" They don't want you there. You need to reposition the troops ," Trump was quoted as saying, according to a US official.

Meanwhile, in a post on the social network Truth Social, the US president declared that the US is winning against Iran and that military operations have guaranteed the movement of oil in the region.

" The oil is flowing like never before thanks to the extraordinary power of the United States Armed Forces ," Trump wrote, thanking Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine and CENTCOM commander Brad Cooper.

Trump added that his administration has ended the period when, according to him, Iran was responsible for the killing of hundreds of thousands of people.

" America is winning again, winning like never before. The days of Iran killing hundreds of thousands of people, including 52,000 protesters, are over. And, most importantly, Iran will never have a nuclear weapon ," the US president wrote.
