The thrilling 90 minutes of the 2025 UEFA Nations League final, held at the Allianz Arena in Munich, between Portugal and Spain ended in a spectacular 2-2 draw. Now, the challenge between the two European giants will continue in extra time to determine the winner of the prestigious trophy.
Spain took the lead in the 15th minute with a goal scored by Martín Zubimendi, who took advantage of a precise pass, although with doubts for offside. Portugal reacted quickly, equalizing in the 26th minute with a magnificent shot by Nuno Mendes, who fired a "golazo" after a quick action. At the end of the first half, Spain regained the lead through Mikel Oyarzabal (45+1'), who took advantage of a magical pass from Pedri to beat goalkeeper Diogo Costa.
In the second half, Portugal came back into the game thanks to a goal by Cristiano Ronaldo in the 61st minute, who scored with an instinctive volley after a deflected cross from Nuno Mendes. Despite numerous chances from both teams, with Lamine Yamal and Pedri threatening for Spain, and Rafael Leao challenging the Spanish defense, the score remained 2–2 at the end of normal time.
Now, the match goes into 30 minutes of extra time, and if the tie continues, the winner will be determined by penalties.
