Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has publicly called on Germans not to complain so much about the Club World Cup that took place in the USA. The German media, like many players and coaches, have criticized the compression of the football calendar, but the German football legend thinks differently.
" If I were a player, I would gladly go to this tournament. Yes, there are more matches, but it is a tournament that is played once every four years. I was not surprised that we Germans were the champions of world criticism, anyway."
"The players complain about being overworked, but it is they, together with the agents, who have created this situation. They demand staggering salaries and force the clubs to create additional tournaments. When it comes to negotiating a pay cut, they refuse ," said Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in his speech.
