The Spanish Football Federation has approved La Liga's proposal to move the December super-challenge between Villarreal and Barcelona to the United States.
At the last board meeting, it was approved that the match will take place at Miami's 'Hard Rock Stadium', an iconic arena of American sports, making this historic match as one of the first La Liga matches to be played outside of Spain.
The next step is an official request from the Spanish Federation to UEFA, which will then be submitted to FIFA for final authorization. If all goes according to plan, fans in Florida will get to see Jamal Lewandowski, Pedro and the other Catalan stars up close in what promises to be a spectacular match.
FIFA rules currently do not allow domestic league matches to be played abroad, but last year it set up a working group to study the issue.
