LDK sees Albin Kurti's proposal to submit 15 signatures as a trap. The Prime Minister extended the hand of cooperation to LDK to elect the new president, declaring that he is ready to accept any candidate from LDK.
But Kurti said that the name proposed by them should compete with VV candidate Feride Rushiti. For LDK, this is a trap in order to ensure a quorum, as VV will likely choose Rushiti.
" We have given our party support, 15 signatures, for the LDK candidate, from the beginning we have made it clear that the president is elected by agreement or consensus. We have 15 signatures for the candidate that the LDK decides on, President Abdiixhiku has said that it could be Vjosa Osmani and the LDK has no dilemma. The people have not given him and cannot give him the entire state, since the people have not given him the votes ," said the Head of the LDK Parliamentary Group, Jehona Lushaku - Sadriu.
Meanwhile, Doarsa Kica-Xhelili said that Kurti wants the LDK to provide the quorum to elect Feride Rushiti as president.
" Once he said 'you don't have a candidate'! We gave him the candidate. Then he said 'you don't have signatures'! We gave him the signatures. Then he said 'what are the signatures for?' (And he saw that it says they are for the presidential candidate). Now he is saying 'we give the signatures but not the votes' ," said Kica-Xhelili.
There was also a reaction to Kurti's request from MP Besian Mustafa, who thinks Kurti's offer is "deceptive."
" Albini said 'Vjosa's signatures but Feride's votes'. Albin, don't bother Vjosa. We elect her President tonight, we save the state. Or are you only interested in power and not the state?! " said MP Mustafa.
