Opposition boycotts, vote for President postponed

The Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, has stated that the opposition has no reason to be absent from the extraordinary session to elect the president, once again calling on it to participate in the process.

To allow opposition MPs to be present, she announced the postponement of the session to 2:00 p.m.

"I invite the opposition again to come to the session on the election of the president and to give them the opportunity to be present at this session, we will continue this session at 2:00 PM," said Haxhiu.

She emphasized that the presence of two-thirds of the deputies is required for the session to take place, excluding cases when the absence is justified by permission. In this context, Haxhiu announced that only one such request has been submitted.

According to her, all 120 MPs must fulfill their constitutional obligation to participate in the session.
