Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Glauk Konjufca and LVV MP Fatmire Mulhaxha-Kollçaku have withdrawn their candidacies for the post of president. At the end of the extraordinary session to elect the president, Konjufca announced that she is withdrawing from her candidacy for president.
"I withdraw from the candidacy for President of the Republic of Kosovo ," Konjufca declared.
After him, Vetëvendosje Movement MP Fatmire Mulhaxha-Kollçaku took the floor, who also declared that she was withdrawing her candidacy for president.
" For the sake of the transcript, I am withdrawing from my candidacy for President ," said Fatmire Mulhaxha Kollçaku.
We recall that Glauk Konjufca and Fatmire Mulhaxha Kollçaku were candidates of the Vetëvendosje Movement for President, while the opposition did not participate at all.
The extraordinary session called today failed because the opposition did not participate, due to disagreement over the name. Under these conditions, Kosovo risks going to new elections again, if the name of the new president is not voted on by tomorrow, which is also the constitutional deadline.
