Will Osmani be supported? Kurti avoids answering: We are making maximum efforts

Kosovo's Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, accompanied by Interior Minister Xhelal Sveçla, appeared today at the Kosovo Assembly, where an extraordinary session is expected to be held to elect the country's new president.

Before the start of the session, Kurti briefly stopped in front of the media, emphasizing that the majority is making efforts to find a solution to the created situation.

"We are making maximum efforts, now let's see if the opposition MPs, who have a constitutional obligation to represent the people, will come and participate in the vote," Kurti said briefly.

The Prime Minister did not give a clear answer regarding the possibility of supporting a new mandate for Vjosa Osmani, leaving political discussions open about the name of the next president.

Meanwhile, the Democratic League of Kosovo has declared that it will not participate in this session. However, according to reports by Radio Free Europe, its leader Lumir Abdixhiku was seen entering the Parliament building, which leaves the final position of this political force unclear.

Today's session is considered crucial for the election of the president, at a time when the country faces the possibility of new parliamentary elections in the event of the failure of the process.
