
The session to elect the president of Kosovo resumed a few minutes ago, while the opposition has once again decided to boycott the process.
Following the resignation of the candidacies of the Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca, and the LVV MP, Fatmire Mulhaxha-Kollçaku, two other names have been proposed.
Speaker of Parliament Albulena Haxhiu has invited the deputies to the hall, while Feride Rushiti and Hatixhe Hoxha have been proposed as candidates.
Rushiti is the director of the Kosovo Center for the Rehabilitation of Torture Survivors. Rushiti and the Kosovo Center for the Rehabilitation of Torture Survivors (KRRT) were nominated for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize.
Hatixhe Hoxha is a doctoral candidate at the Faculty of Philology at the University of Pristina and has been part of the Vetëvendosje Movement since 2010. She has also served two terms as a member of parliament.
The Deputy Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo from the ranks of the Democratic Party, Vlora Çitaku, has said that the way the session to elect the president was called is frivolous.
