A meeting is currently underway between the leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, and the former president of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani. The development of this meeting has been confirmed, but so far no further details have been given about the content or outcome of the talks.
It is worth noting that the meeting comes at a very sensitive political moment, just a few weeks before the early parliamentary elections expected to be held on June 7. Lumir Abdixhiku has long made known his position that Vjosa Osmani has an undisputed place within the LDK. He has described her as an essential part of the political project that aims to unite institutionalists, pro-Western rightists and experienced figures in the country. Abdixhiku has even declared that he will work until the last moment to return Osmani to the LDK family, emphasizing that the party is democratic and respects the decision of the majority of the membership.
On the other hand, Vjosa Osmani, who after the end of her presidential mandate has intensified meetings with citizens throughout Kosovo, has not yet made an explicit statement about her political future.
