While hundreds of protesters have gathered in front of his office demanding his resignation, Prime Minister Rama has 'escaped' to Vlora where he has organized an anti-rally.
Apparently concerned by the continuation of the protests in Tirana, Rama has decided to bring out the entire Vlora administration and the socialists on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the Socialist Party, to create the idea that the majority still supports him and that the dissatisfaction is not at the levels that are being shown.
The activity aims to demonstrate the strength and mobilization of the majority in the face of the climate of dissatisfaction. Young socialists are also expected to take the stage, selected to respond to the criticisms and accusations articulated by the protesters in Tirana, in an effort to revitalize the electoral base of the Socialist Party.
In parallel, a broader political and organizational mobilization is being prepared, where socialist militants are expected to engage more actively in defense of the party's structures. Sources close to the majority also speak of the revival of online groups and a tougher stance towards SP figures who have kept their distance or shown sympathy towards the protests.
This approach is a strategy for increasing political polarization and consolidating supporters in the face of growing pressure. On the eve of Albania's international commitments, Rama aims to project the image of a united majority, although it remains unclear whether the tensions created will ease or escalate further in the coming days.
