Prime Minister Edi Rama responded from Vlora to the protesters on the "Martyrs of the Nation" boulevard, who have been demanding his resignation for 6 days.
While holding a meeting with residents of Zvërnec, whom he asked to resolve their property disputes in court, Rama said that he has no intention of resigning even if 500,000 people take to the streets, not 5,000.
He reminded the protesters that there is a contract signed by more than 800,000 Albanians who voted for him and the Socialist Party.
"Not 5 thousand people, but 500 thousand to come out on the streets, it's not enough, there are 800 thousand or so who have made an agreement with me and the SP. This investment did not come out of nowhere today. I said it in the campaign. I was in Tivat, I came directly from Tivat here... Tivat was the most underdeveloped place in Montenegro, tourists did not go because it was a military base," said Rama.
He then ironized the protesters when he said that those who came out to protest want salaries like in America, maybe they want them like in Manhattan.
"I don't know what these people want. The salaries in our tourism system are like in Greece, or more like in Greece. Here it's not: 'How much should I give you?'. Here it's: 'Come and work.' In Tivat, everyone I met there was Montenegrin," Rama said.
