Analyst Enton Abilekaj stated that Prime Minister Edi Rama's decision to allocate 4.2 million euros for the concert of artist Kanye West was a personal and non-transparent decision, adding that this issue attracted the attention of international media.
Abilekaj expressed his support for the protest organized on this issue, but stressed that the concert participants should not be equated with government supporters. According to Abilekaj, many young Albanians know the artist and have chosen to attend the concert because of his music, without necessarily having any connection to political positions.
He stressed that the funding issue has been sent for review to the Constitutional Court and the Special Prosecutor's Office (SPAK), adding that the legality of the normative act will be determined by the relevant institutions. He also criticized the lack of transparency regarding the decision, raising the question of why such funds were not used for other cultural activities.
"I think the rhetorical construction from both sides is wrong. I'm starting with the protest, I support the protest. The protest is not just in the square. But the protest cannot equate Kanye West with Rama's decision to disburse 4 billion lek to help the concert.
In the protest, there were many voices that equated the participation in the Kanye West concert with Rama's supporters. It is not the same thing. There may also be protesters who went to the concert. We are talking about a high-level singer, who even young Albanians know and have grown up with, there is nothing wrong with going there, what Rama did does not tarnish the concert.
It has gone to the Constitutional Court and SPAK. If the normative act is illegal, the bodies will say so. The decision should be transparent and show the reasons. Now we have a Zucchero concert, why doesn't the money go there?

We are used to personal decision-making here, but foreign media were impressed. Not everyone who went there rejected the protest. There were even those who said Rama should resign ," Abilekaj declared for "TPZ".
