A surprise came today from the Fier region after the recount of votes by the Complaints and Sanctions Commission (KAS), where Maldrita Bardho overturned the result and took Zegjine Çaushi's place in the new parliament.
The recount of some ballot boxes brought an increase in votes for Bardho, while Çaushi's points decreased, making it impossible for her to retain her mandate. With this new result, Bardho is expected to be one of the new deputies who will sit in the Assembly in September, representing the Fier district.
Maldrita Bardho is a professional in the field of pharmacy and biology-chemistry. Born on March 14, 1984 in Fier, she completed her studies at the “Kristal” University in Pharmacy, as well as a second-level diploma in Biology-Chemistry at the University of Natural Sciences in Tirana.
In her professional career, she has worked as a pharmacist and then as a technical manager in a pharmacy in Lushnja. She has also received qualifications from the international organization ASME in the role of a health professional. In parallel, Bardho has exercised an active political role as the coordinator of Women in the Bubullimë Administrative Unit, organizing meetings and activities of the Socialist Party.
With the latest decision of the KAS, she enters Parliament as a new figure for the Socialist Party, while for Zegjine Çauşi, the result marks an unexpected exit from the race.
