Socialist Party MP Erion Braçe has reacted to the protests and the debate on sustainable development. He stressed that the voice of citizens, especially young people, should not be ignored.
Through a post on social media, Brace stated that the protest cannot be seen simply as a political clash, as, according to him, it also raises real concerns about the environment and how the country should develop.
"In the protest there are legitimate interests for sustainable development, for the environment and nature. These are issues that will affect not only today, but also in 10, 15 or 20 years," the socialist MP writes.
Braçe emphasizes that for this very reason, decisions made today cannot be separated from the generation that will face their consequences.
"We cannot decide for them, but without them. It is impossible to determine how future generations will live without including them in the discussion and without listening to their concerns," he says.
According to the socialist MP, young people have witnessed the problems their parents and grandparents faced and seek to have an active role in decision-making.
"They have seen the difficulties, the inequalities and the lack of opportunities. Therefore, they demand the right to decide for themselves about their future and this right cannot be ignored ," emphasizes Braçe.
The MP also appeals that the voice of young people not be left out of the public debate, but be considered an essential element in democratic processes and in decisions related to the country's development.
