A 68-year-old man lost his life this Saturday in Përmet, in an incident that is initially suspected to have been caused by a lightning strike.
The victim has been identified as Syrja Karati, a resident of Ballaban. According to preliminary data, he was in the area called Zaçe Be, in the Trebeshinës Mountains, where he had taken his cattle out to pasture, when he was struck by an electric shock during bad weather.
As a result, the 68-year-old died at the scene.
The police and the investigation team have begun actions to fully document the case. From the first verifications, it is suspected that the cause of death was a lightning strike.
