Hezbollah leader rejects Israel-Lebanon agreement: Invalid, crosses red lines!
Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem

Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem has rejected the framework agreement signed between Israel, Lebanon and the United States, calling it unacceptable and contrary to Lebanon's interests.

Qassem declared today that the agreement signed in Washington is "null and void," constitutes "a humiliation" and represents the surrender of national sovereignty. According to him, it should be replaced by the memorandum reached between Iran and the US.

The Hezbollah leader also warned that the organization will not accept that the withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon be conditioned on its disarmament.

"Any attempt to link Israel's withdrawal from southern Lebanon to the disarmament of the organization crosses red lines," he said.

Qassem also addressed the Lebanese authorities with a harsh message: "We say to the Lebanese authorities that it is time for you to give up your sins that are destroying Lebanon."

His statements come a day after the US, Israel and Lebanon signed a trilateral framework agreement in Washington, which aims to weaken Hezbollah after several days of negotiations mediated by the US administration.

According to the US State Department, the agreement provides for a structured process for disarming Hezbollah, dismantling its military infrastructure, and creating conditions for the withdrawal of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) from Lebanon, once the threat posed by the organization, according to the agreement, is eliminated.

The document also envisages increased US support for the Lebanese Armed Forces, with the aim of strengthening their capacities and supporting operations against Hezbollah.
