Interior Minister Besfort Lamallari has warned that there may be other people who could be declared "Non Grata" by the Albanian government because they could threaten the country's national security.
"Then, I said it a little earlier, let me repeat it. Every week, I have dozens of requests on my desk that come from law enforcement agencies. This is a dynamic work that continues day after day. And if it turns out that these people are involved in organized crime, in serious crimes, in fraud, in blackmail that is done to Albanian citizens.
Although it is true that these people, in addition to their daily activities, of course I said dangerous, also participate in the protest, this does not mean that we will be intimidated.
Our task is to implement the law point by point, because at the end of the day, regardless of nuances or different political situations, the State Police must be on duty and protect Albanian citizens.
And, without being intimidated by the public pressure that may be created and by the various judgments that may come. But, of course, this is my duty, this is the duty of the Albanian government, this is what we have been entrusted with and above all, the public interest prevails..,” Lamallari said in an interview with Euronews Albania.
Meanwhile, the State Police announced that it has criminally prosecuted 15 citizens for organizing and participating in illegal gatherings and demonstrations, disrupting public order and peace, and obstructing the movement of means of transport.
"Investigative actions resulted in the rally, announced to take place in the time interval from 19:00 to 22:00, in "Skënderbej" Square and on "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard, continuing on several road axes of the capital, specifically on Elbasani Street, the 9-Katësheve area, former Block and segments of the Ring Road, where vehicle traffic was blocked, exceeding the officially announced hours and perimeter of movement," the police said.
