The National Council is meeting for the first time after the new elections. Changes are expected in the leadership of the Democratic Party, while the vice-chairmen, the secretary general and all secretariats will be voted on.
A month after the election of new members of the National Council, the Democratic Party will convene the highest decision-making body between the two assemblies on July 1, in a meeting where the entire leadership of the blue headquarters is expected to be reconfigured.
At the constitutive meeting, the new chairman of the National Council will be elected, while the Council will also vote on the new composition of the Presidency, the vice-chairmen, the secretary general and all heads of the secretariats of the Democratic Party.
The process follows the National Assembly held on May 30, where the new members of the National Council were elected. With the vote on July 1, the political team with which Sali Berisha intends to lead the Democratic Party in the new phase of organization and preparations for the local elections is expected to take shape.
Sources in the Democratic Party indicate that changes are expected in the leadership structures, with moves in both the Presidency and the Secretariat. It is not ruled out that some of the current leaders will be replaced, while new names will take responsibility in organizing the party.
