Five people have been arrested in France in connection with the robbery and assault of four-time former Formula 1 champion Alain Prost.
The incident took place about a month ago at Prost's apartment in Nyon, Switzerland. According to authorities, the group of suspects consisted of five young men, aged between 16 and 22. Two of them are minors, while the other three have been remanded in custody without bail.
The arrested face charges of robbery with violence, kidnapping and participation in a criminal organization.
According to the investigation, during the attack Alain Prost confronted the perpetrators and suffered head injuries. The robbers allegedly threatened his family and forced him to open the safe, from which they took valuables.
The incident has caused reactions in the world of Formula 1. Alain Prost, one of the most successful drivers in the history of the sport with four world championship titles, is reportedly recovering from the incident.
