Italian authorities have carried out checks at the offices of the Bari club, Napoli and the company Filmauro Srl, as part of an investigation by the Guardia di Finanza, coordinated by the Bari Prosecutor's Office.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis and his son Luigi De Laurentiis, former sole administrator of SSC Bari, are under investigation. According to authorities, they are suspected of making false statements in Bari's financial statements for 2024, as well as fraudulent bankruptcy in connection with the club's liquidation proceedings.
According to the Guardia di Finanza, the investigation is based on a detailed analysis of the financial balance sheets, management reports and accounting documentation of SSC Bari, accompanied by technical expertise.
From preliminary verifications, investigators have found that the club has recorded continuous losses of around 30 million euros during the period 2019-2025. Also, according to them, SSC Bari faces a significant capital deficit and a high level of liabilities, while a concrete plan for the club's financial recovery is lacking.
Investigations are still ongoing, as Italian authorities are examining the possible responsibilities of managers in the financial management of SSC Bari.
