A massive fire engulfed the garage of a building in the Spitalla area of Durrës on Wednesday night, causing moments of panic for residents of the area. The incident occurred near the former carpentry shop, an area with dense construction and high-rise housing.
The flames spread rapidly, creating a danger to the buildings and vehicles located in the lower floors of the building. Fortunately, the timely intervention of the fire brigade made it possible to neutralize the fire and prevent its spread to the upper floors.
So far, no injuries have been reported, while the cause of the fire is being verified. It is initially suspected to be an electrical fault in one of the garage units, but investigations are ongoing.
Footage from the scene shows the extent of the fire and the material damage it left behind. Authorities are urging residents to be cautious and report any potential hazards in residential areas.
