3 Albanians have been extradited from Greece, Belgium and Serbia, after being declared internationally wanted.
The extradited individuals are serving prison sentences for prostitution, money laundering, drug cultivation and motor vehicle trafficking. The three were handed over to Albanian police at Rinas airport by partner services today.
The first person handed over to Interpol agents in Tirana was Mikel Hoxha (Papa) , a person with two identities, captured in Greece, who was sentenced to 4 years in prison by the Berat Court for the criminal offense of "laundering the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity."
Meanwhile, 40-year-old Armando Gropa , captured in Belgium, has been sentenced by the Tirana Court of Appeal to 3 years and 4 months in prison for the criminal offense of "cultivation of narcotic plants."
The last to be extradited was Suard Onuz , captured in Serbia, after the Court of Kukës, in 2023, assigned him the security measure of "prison arrest" for the criminal offense of "trafficking in motor vehicles". He is accused of having trafficked into Albania, 1 "Mercedes Benz" vehicle, reported stolen in France.
"The finalization of extradition procedures is the result of consistent cooperation between Interpol Tirana services and their counterparts in Athens, Brussels and Belgrade. Specifically, the following Albanian citizens were extradited to Albania:
-MH alias MP, arrested in Greece, after the Court of Berat sentenced him to 4 years in prison for the criminal offense of "Laundering the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity". He invested in the purchase of real estate and transferred large sums of money to his relatives, income from which he benefited from the criminal activity of exploitation for prostitution, for which he was convicted in Italy. From the sentence, citizen MH alias MP must serve 3 years and 9 months in prison;
-AG, 40 years old, arrested in Belgium, after the Tirana Court of Appeal sentenced him to 3 years and 4 months in prison for the criminal offense of "Cultivation of narcotic plants". In 2021, he cultivated 140 narcotic Cannabis Sativa plants on the land he owned in the village of Grizë;
-SO, arrested in Serbia, after the Court of Kukës, in 2023, assigned him the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense of "Trafficking in motor vehicles". He is accused of having trafficked in Albania, 1 vehicle type "Mercedes Benz", reported stolen in France , the police announced.
