An anti-drug operation has been conducted in the territory of the Kruja district, where the police have discovered and destroyed a number of cannabis seedlings and plants. The action has been focused on several areas of the administrative units of the district, while controls continue to identify cases of cannabis cultivation in closed environments.
During field inspections, where drones are also being used, cannabis seedlings and narcotic plants were identified and destroyed by burning.
In parallel, the police are verifying closed environments where cannabis is suspected of being cultivated using lamps. In cooperation with OSHEE, risk areas are being identified, while investigative groups are working to uncover the perpetrators.

Since the early hours of this morning, hundreds of police officers from the Tirana Local Police Directorate and the Kruja Police Commissariat, in cooperation with the National Security Force, Tirana Unit, have been carrying out large-scale checks in the territory of the Kruja district, to prevent and crack down on the cultivation of narcotic plants.
The operation, which also uses high-quality drones, has been extended to the territory of the villages of the Cudhi administrative unit and will continue in the coming days in the territory of the villages of other administrative units of the Krujë district.
During the operation, a significant number of cannabis seedlings and narcotic plants were identified and destroyed by burning.
Also, during the operation, the Police services have intensified their work to control closed environments, where it is suspected that narcotic plants may be cultivated using lamps. The Tirana Local Police Directorate and the Kruja Police Commissariat, in cooperation with OSHEE, are working to identify risk areas where cannabis may be cultivated.
Meanwhile, special investigative groups are conducting investigative actions on the ground, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, with the aim of identifying and capturing the perpetrators.
"The Tirana Local Police Directorate appeals to all residents of the administrative units of the Krujë district not to attempt to cultivate narcotic plants, as it is determined to crack down on any case of attempted cultivation and bring to justice all persons involved in this criminal activity ," the police announced.
