40-year-old Besnik Koldreu, arrested as a suspect for involvement in the murder of spouses Kreshnik and Gentjana Mujeci, an event that occurred on April 26 in the village of Balldren, Lezha, will continue to remain in prison.
He appeared before the court for the reassessment of the security measure imposed in his absence. During the closed-door hearing, Koldreu denied any connection to the criminal incident.
According to sources, he stated that he lives and works in Montenegro and that he had no knowledge of the vehicle used by the suspected perpetrators of the crime, which was hidden near the apartment of his elderly parents in the Torovica area.
Despite his claims, the Court accepted the Prosecution's request and imposed the security measure "Arrest in prison" on the 40-year-old for the criminal offense of "Supporting the perpetrator of a crime", committed in collaboration.
Besnik Koldreu was arrested by Montenegrin authorities in Ulcinj on the afternoon of June 17, after being declared wanted as part of the investigation into the murder of the Mujeci couple.
Meanwhile, three other suspects, Renato, Florin and Adriano Mhillaj, remain at large. According to investigations, they are suspected of having acted in collaboration with each other to commit the murder.
Kreshnik and Gentjana Mujeci were executed by a hail of bullets while traveling in their vehicle on the Balldren-Torovicë axis, in Lezha. Investigations so far have raised suspicions that the motive for the crime is related to revenge.
