Intense rainfall has caused serious problems on the Librazhd-Prrenjas national highway. This afternoon, vehicle traffic was blocked for more than an hour on the segment known as the "Dragostunja Bends".
According to reports from the scene, at around 17:45 a strong storm that swept through the Librazhd area caused landslides of soil, rocks and mud from the side slopes towards the national road. As a result, significant parts of the roadway were covered with inert materials, completely blocking the movement of vehicles in both directions.
The situation was further aggravated by the ongoing road widening works, as part of the Corridor VIII project. Heavy rainfall favored landslides in the areas where interventions are being carried out, causing immediate difficulties for traffic.
As a result of the blockage, long lines of vehicles formed on both sides of the road, while drivers were forced to wait for more than an hour.
To normalize the situation, the vehicles and employees of the company carrying out road works were deployed, who intervened to clean the roadway and remove the soil and stones that had fallen on the axle.
