17 stab wounds caused internal bleeding and instant death to 45-year-old Albanian Gentiana Kopili Hudhra, who was stabbed in a park in Tolentino, Italy, by her ex-husband, Nikollaq Hudhra, 55.
The autopsy performed today at the Macerata morgue has shed light on the tragic dynamics of the crime that occurred in Tolentino, confirming horrific details of the attack.
According to the Macerata prosecutor's office, which is investigating the incident for intentional and premeditated murder, some of the wounds were superficial, indicating that Gentiana attempted to defend herself and leave.
She tried to stop a blow with her hand and then ran away, but was chased and hit from behind on Benadduci Street, where Gudhra caught her and stabbed her with an 18 cm kitchen knife, which she had hidden in a bag to avoid being noticed.
According to forensic pathologist Antonio Tombolini, who performed the autopsy on behalf of prosecutor Enrico Riccioni, some of the blows were positioned on the neck, back, and side of the body.
The fatal wounds damaged internal organs, causing massive blood loss and instant death. There were also facial injuries, suspected to have been caused by kicking the victim while he was lying on the ground.
The incident occurred at around 8:00 PM on Saturday, June 14, when Gudhra ambushed Gentiana, who was lying on her back and talking on the phone. After the crime, he sat on a bench next to the dead body and did not try to leave. There he was arrested by the carabinieri, who accompanied him to the police station for questioning.
Today, before the autopsy, the body was identified by lawyer Guglielmo De Luca, representative of Gentiana's family. Gudhra's lawyer, Lucia Testarmata, was also present at the morgue, but did not participate in the examination.
Tomorrow, June 20, a morgue will be opened in the temporary tent at the Sticchi sports area in Tolentino from 10:00 to 19:00. The funeral ceremony will not take place in Italy, as Gentiana's body will be transported to Albania, where the funeral will also take place.
