Interpol Tirana, together with the wanted persons unit at the NCA, have handcuffed one of Leart Haxhiu's relatives.
According to extradition court documents seen by Top Channel, the arrested person is Lorenc Lala, 47 years old.
Albanian justice is seeking him on charges of conspiracy to commit murder.
He will appear again before the extradition court on June 24.
He has been remanded in custody until this date for his own dangerousness and participation in a criminal organization.
Albanian justice charges Lorenc Lala for involvement in the murder of Albi Bashaliu in the village of Gjocaj, Peqin, a murder committed for 50 thousand euros and the payment, according to investigations, was given to Laert Haxhiu by Lorenc alias Kristian Lala.
According to the testimony of prosecution associate Artan Tafani, he committed Bashaliu's murder together with Lulzim Arapi, Bledar Berberi, Enrico Xhahysa and Laert Haxhiu.
The financial amount was paid by Lala to Laert Haxhiu who then mobilized his group to carry out the murder. / Top Channel
