A fire broke out this afternoon on the Kuzum Baba hill in Vlora, encompassing an area of bushes and vegetation.
After being notified of the fire, the Vlora Fire Service forces were deployed to the scene, working to isolate the source and extinguish the flames, in order to prevent them from spreading to surrounding areas.
The situation remains under monitoring, as there are homes near the area affected by the fire, as well as the Kuzum Baba Tekke, one of the city's religious and historical landmarks.
So far, no injuries have been reported, while the operation to bring the flames under control continues.
Meanwhile, another fire broke out in the Ulzë Administrative Unit, in the Mat Municipality, where the flames engulfed an area of vegetation and spread rapidly due to high temperatures and strong winds.
Immediately after the alarm was raised, fire service forces were deployed to the area, supported by employees of the Mat Municipality, who are working to isolate the source and extinguish the flames, so that the fire does not spread to other areas.
According to preliminary data, it is suspected that the fire may have been started intentionally. Meanwhile, authorities have launched investigations to clarify the circumstances of the incident and identify the exact cause of the explosion of flames.
The fire extinguishing operation continues, while the situation is being monitored by the responsible structures.
