
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Besfort Lamallari, announced that, through the 2026 Budget Normative Act, funding for the State Police will increase by 701 million lek.
In a post on social networks, Lamallari announced that the additional funds will be used to increase support for the salaries of State Police employees, investments in technology, motivation of elite structures, as well as to accelerate the process of modernizing the institution in accordance with the best European standards.
"Through the 2026 Budget Normative Act, we increase funding for the State Police by 701 million lekë. More support for the salaries of officers, more investments in technology, more motivation for elite structures and another decisive step towards modernization according to the best European standards. A stronger police force means a safer Albania. This is our commitment and we will move forward with determination," said Minister Lamallari.
According to the minister, this increase in funding is part of the government's commitment to building a more capable, modern and well-equipped State Police to face security challenges, with the aim of guaranteeing the protection of life, property and public order.
