
The State Police has extradited from Spain a citizen sentenced to 7 years in prison for fraud with serious consequences.
In an official announcement, the Police announced that they have extradited citizen Marjana Gjona from Spain.
"Following the consolidated cooperation between specialists from the Interpol Directorate and their counterparts in Spain, the extradition procedures for the following were finalized within the framework of the "The Wanted" operation:
-from Spain, to Albania, of citizen Marjana Gjona, 42 years old, who was sentenced in 2019, by the Pogradec Judicial District Court, to 7 years in prison, for the criminal offense of "Fraud", with serious consequences", the official Police announcement states.
Marjana Gjonaj was among the 20 most wanted women on Interpol's list. She is suspected of being involved in several fraud cases, taking considerable amounts of money from various citizens. In one case, which was also made public on television shows, Marjana Gjonaj appeared as being raped by her family members. According to the reports, Marjana used acquaintances on social networks, where she showed the violence she had experienced, and even used her child, to benefit from sums of money. In this specific case, she had managed to get 14 thousand euros from a complainant, while there were reports that she had managed to commit fraud, benefiting from amounts of up to 20 thousand euros.
