Anti-explosive units have taken control of the situation regarding the explosion that occurred in Shkodra, where a resident of a building lost his life while passing by electricity meters.
The explosion occurred at around 10:10 AM and local police rushed to classify the explosion as related to a faulty electric meter. However, OSHEE, in a response, dismissed this suspicion.
The victim, Hysni Ymeri, 67 years old, a resident of the "Manush Alimani" neighborhood, was leaving the building when the explosion occurred.
"Around 10:10, in the "Manush Alimani" neighborhood, at the entrance to a building, it is suspected that the electricity meter panel exploded. As a result, a citizen was injured, who lost his life at the Shkodra Regional Hospital," the police announced today.
But OSHEE, a few minutes later, ruled out the possibility of an explosion of electric meters, adding to the mystery surrounding the event.
This situation has led to the focus of attention on another possibility, that of placing an explosive substance in the electrical meter box, which exploded. This is precisely what is being investigated by the anti-explosive unit, which must determine the cause of the explosion, the explosive substance placed and how it was activated.
Initial reports suggest that the explosive material was TNT, while questions arise about who the target was.
The victim had no problematic past, nor blood feuds, which dispels suspicions that the assassination was aimed at him.
