An unusual episode has accompanied the arrival of the Brazilian national team in the United States of America, where the delegation of the five-time world champions has faced strict security measures from American authorities.
According to reports, all members of the Brazilian delegation, including players, technical staff and support personnel, were subjected to detailed border checks immediately upon arrival in US territory.
The procedures included metal detector scans, baggage checks, shoe inspections and personal belongings checks. The checks lasted for a considerable period of time and caused surprise among the Brazilian team.
Usually, high-level national team delegations enjoy more expedited procedures during international travel, but in this case, US authorities have implemented the same measures for all team members.
Sources close to the organization say that Brazil was not the only team to face these procedures. The delegations of Senegal and Uzbekistan also went through the same screening process, suggesting that US authorities are implementing a new and stricter security protocol for sports teams entering the country.
So far there has been no official reaction from the Brazilian Football Federation regarding this situation.
