Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Wednesday that threats to target critical infrastructure are a sign of weakness and not strength, stressing that Iran will remain steadfast in the face of pressure and threats.
In a post on X, Pezeshkian described critical infrastructure as the “lifeblood of the people” and said that threatened sectors such as transportation, electricity, and water show no strength.
"The threat to target them, from transportation networks to the electricity and water sectors, is not a show of strength, but rather a sign of powerlessness in the face of a nation's resolve," he wrote.
The Iranian president added that the country will continue to rely on the expertise of its specialists and the unity of its people to overcome challenges.
President Donald Trump said the US will resume strikes on Iran after insufficient progress in negotiations to end the war.
" We're going to hit them, we're going to hit them very hard ," Trump said in the Oval Office earlier Wednesday, suggesting that Iran's downing of a US military Apache helicopter off the coast of Oman justified new attacks.
