A shrapnel fragment from an Iranian ballistic missile hit an Israeli Air Force base in the north of the country on Sunday evening, Israeli sources said.
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that the missile hit the Ramat David air base during one of the first rounds of ballistic missile attacks.
The IRGC released video footage on Iranian state media, purportedly showing the moment the missiles were launched.
According to an Israeli military source, only part of the rocket managed to hit a structure inside the base. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said investigations are continuing to determine the extent of the damage caused.
The attack comes amid high tension between Iran and Israel, following recent exchanges of fire between the two sides.
