A simple moment in the stands has become a viral story, as a young boy, a young Mexico fan, caught everyone's attention during the World Cup match against South Africa.
Mexico kicked off the tournament with a 2-0 victory at the Estadio Azteca on June 11, but beyond the result on the field, the attention of social media was captured by a little boy in the stands, who was wearing a Christmas T-shirt, as he did not have an official national team jersey.
Footage of him celebrating goals was caught on television cameras and quickly spread on social media, going viral. Mexican broadcaster Claro Sports even released the video to help identify the little fan.
The reaction was not long in coming. Fans of the "El Tri" national team managed to find the boy, who was then surprised with an official Mexico jersey as a gift for his special support.
"Faith in humanity is slowly being restored," one social media user wrote, summing up the emotion of the moment that touched thousands of people online.
