The tourist season has brought a significant increase in passenger traffic at the Kakavija border crossing, one of the main entry and exit gates between Albania and Greece.
Over the last 24 hours, around 4,000 citizens and 1,500 vehicles have crossed the border on both sides, according to official data from border authorities.
A significant portion of the movements belong to foreign tourists, who have chosen Albania as a destination for summer holidays, visiting coastal areas, natural attractions and cultural heritage sites.
Faced with the increasing influx, Border Police staff and customs authorities in Kakavija are committed to guaranteeing the fastest possible procedures and avoiding queues at the border.
Authorities predict that the number of travelers will continue to increase in the coming weeks, as the summer season enters its peak.
