A woman was found dead in a house in Pianello Vallesina, a small village in Monte Roberto, in the province of Ancona, Italy. According to initial reports, she had been beaten to death. Her name was Sadjide Muslija, 49, an Albanian originally from North Macedonia.
According to Italian media, she was abused several times over the year by her husband, Nazif Muslija, also 50, from North Macedonia. The man, who is currently wanted on suspicion of femicide, was arrested last April after another attack on his wife.
In that case, her husband had broken down her bedroom door with an axe while she had taken refuge in a neighbor's house.
He had broken her mobile phone and shouted: “I will kill you tonight”, accusing her of suspecting that she had betrayed him. After she left, Muslija went to the house of his alleged lover, breaking down the door even though no one was home. He then returned home and was stopped by the carabinieri.
In July, the man had agreed to a plea deal.
The couple then returned to cohabitation. The victim said she had been subjected to physical violence by her husband for two years.
The woman had not shown up for work that morning, so her employer filed a complaint. Late that morning, the carabinieri went to Muslija's house and found her dead. She was lifeless, lying in bed, with signs of severe beatings.
