Businessman Edmond Mëhalla was executed inside his Range Rover in the "Emin Matraxhiu" neighborhood of the city of Elbasan.
The video of the assassination attempt in which 43-year-old businessman Edmond Mëhalla was executed by gunfire on Sunday evening in the city of Elbasan has been published.
In the footage published by "BalkanWeb", the moment is seen when the perpetrator approaches the victim's car alone and shoots him several times.
Businessman Edmond Mëhalla was executed as soon as he got into his "Range Rover" car, very close to his gas station in Elbasan, "Xhaxhi Oil", on Sunday evening.
The gunman is wearing a hood to avoid being identified by security cameras. Two bullets hit him in the head, while the others end up in the 43-year-old's body, causing his instant death.
A few meters further on is the "Audi" type car with a luggage rack, in which he had arrived at the scene of the crime and left after the crime, all alone. The assassins left in the direction of the Elbasan-Librazhd axis. after they were sure that the 43-year-old had passed away. The car that was found burned in Miraka, Librazhd, was taken in Tirana the day before the murder.
32-year-old Marsel Arani , has been declared wanted by the police, suspected of being the author of the incident, together with citizen Armando Kola , from Laçi. Marsel Arani was under "house arrest" for another criminal offense.
The two people arrested by the police are 32-year-old Xhino Ago , who is suspected of being an accomplice, after having given his vehicle to one of the perpetrators, Marcelo Arani. He is accused of the criminal offenses of “Premeditated murder”, committed in collaboration, and “Unlicensed production and possession of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition”. While the other arrested person is the gas station guard Kujtim Pisha , 52 years old, he is accused of the criminal offense of “Failure to report a crime”.
Another person has been arrested in connection with the murder of businessman Edmond Mëhalla alias Edmond Hyka. 29-year-old Nevzat Spaho , a person with a criminal record, is suspected of being the person who shot Hyka while the latter was inside his vehicle.
Although not officially confirmed, the main line of investigation into the murder remains business disputes, as relations between Ago and Mahalla had broken off two years ago. Although the business partnership was terminated in 2023, conflicts between them continued in recent days.
