New details have emerged from the serious accident that occurred near QTU, where a bus on the Berat-Tirana route went off the road, overturned and ended up in the side channel of the highway.
According to preliminary data, it is reported that two people have lost their lives in the accident, including the bus driver. It is initially suspected that the driver suffered a heart attack, as it is learned that he had shown health problems shortly before the accident. The cause of death and the full circumstances of the incident are expected to be clarified by the investigation.
Regarding the condition of the injured, the University Trauma Hospital has announced that 12 people are currently being treated. Meanwhile, 7 of them are in serious condition, while among them are a child and a minor, who are receiving treatment in intensive care.
According to the official announcement from the Trauma Hospital, one of the passengers arrived at the hospital without signs of life.
The police and the investigation team continue to work to uncover the full causes and circumstances of the accident.
