There is no topic that doesn't pass through them...
Every day, on television screens and on social networks, it seems as if Albanian politics has turned into a permanent duel between Edi Rama and Sali Berisha. But what is most striking is not only the clash between them, but the fact that they talk about everything. There is no topic that does not pass through them: from the economy to education, from health to geostrategy, from tourism to every development of the day. As if it were not enough that they lead politics, they seem to feel obliged to comment on it in every detail.
This constant presence does not leave much space for others. Ministers, experts or other political figures appear rarely and usually on the periphery of the debate. Not because they are absent, but because their voice is drowned out by these two. When two figures take over to speak on any topic, the rest of the political system fades into the background. It is a stage where roles exist, but the dialogue and monologue always take place between the same protagonists.
This is not simply megalomania, but a way to fill every space until there is no room for anyone else. The more they talk about everything, the more the idea is created that only they have the right to explain reality. Others are not banned but simply become unnecessary since Rama and Berisha talk about everything. There is no need to exclude others when you can cover them. In the end, it seems as if politics only exists if it goes through them.
In this way, the idea is gradually created in the public, who are taught that every issue can only be explained by these two. The more often this happens, the more natural it seems and the more power begins to be concentrated not only as a decision-making power, but also as a monopoly of speech. Apparently, it is not enough just to make decisions, but you must also be their sole interpreter.
In the end, the problem is not only that the same people always speak, but that others are no longer heard. The public space seems full, but in reality it is narrowed. And as this pattern repeats itself every day, a reality is created where pluralism exists in form, but not in voice.
