Floods are the natural auditors of his governance...
The rain is not the problem. Neither the precipitation, nor the clouds, nor the Mediterranean cyclones. They have fallen here even before Edi Rama, even before the government PowerPoints. The problem is that today, in the Albania governed by him, the rain falls on a mess built with political decisions, with corruption, with clientelism and with contempt for the law.
When the prime minister scoffs and says “don’t blame me for the rain,” he is technically right. No one blames him for the clouds. But he is responsible for every poorly constructed sewer, every clogged collector, every river narrowed by his friends’ washing machines, every substandardly paved road that turns into a stream after 20 minutes of rain. And above all, he is responsible for the fact that these problems are not an accident, but a model of governance.
Millions of euros have been spent on sewers that don't work. Tenders have been awarded, contracts have been signed, ribbons have been cut, drones have been raised, but water continues to enter homes, shops, hospitals and schools. Where has the money gone? On paper. On balance sheets. In pockets. Sewers were built to pass funds, not water.
Meanwhile, unregulated riverside development has become the norm. Every riverbed is seen as a construction site, every flood as a “natural disaster,” every permit as a political payoff. Rivers are narrowed, diverted, concreted over, and used as business cards for government clients. Then, when the river overflows its banks, nature is to blame.
The greedy exploitation of inert materials has destroyed natural balances. Eroded mountains, bare riverbeds, weakened shores, all with permits, with signatures, with official silence. This is not a lack of control, but a deliberate policy: clients win, territory loses, citizens drown.
The collectors are busy with construction without permits or with special permits. No one sees, no one hears, no one is held responsible. When it rains, the water has nowhere to go, because its path is blocked by buildings, warehouses, shops and parking lots built on public infrastructure. And again, the response is mocking.
The roads are built without quality, without drainage, without technical logic. They were made to be inaugurated, not to function. A moderate rain is enough to turn the asphalt into a canal. But the bills have been paid, the contracts have been closed, the responsible people have been promoted.
This is why every storm turns into a crisis. Not because nature is hostile, but because the state is built on deception. And when the prime minister makes fun of the rain, he is not making fun of the rain, but of the citizens. He is telling them: this is what you have, and do not ask for an account.
Albania is not drowning in water. It is drowning in a governance model that treats institutions as loot, territory as a market, the law as an obstacle and citizens as statistics. And for this, responsibility does not fall from the sky. It has a name, a signature and a history. And this history does not begin with the rain. It begins with the government that does not recognize guilt, only justifies itself./ Pamphlet

Nje permbytje katastrofike pritet dhe ne zonen e thesarit ne Tiranë, ku perroi gjerozes eshte futur shkel e shko ne tuba te ngushte dhe te pa lidhur mire. Kjo pune u be per te bere parkim dhe pervetesuar pronen publike. Jetojme ne kohen e zaptimit dhe papergjegjshmerisë.
