Tehran warns that foreign military presence near Iranian borders could lead to clashes, while armed forces remain on high alert.
Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Tuesday issued a direct warning to foreign military forces in the Strait of Hormuz region, urging them to leave "as soon as possible."
In a message published on the X platform, Araghchi stated that the presence of foreign forces near Iranian territory creates a constant risk of incidents and escalation of the situation.
"The best solution is for them to leave," he wrote, arguing that human error, accidents or the possibility of finding themselves in the middle of a military clash could have serious consequences.
The Iranian diplomat accompanied the message with another strong warning, stating that Iran prefers diplomacy, but is ready to act differently if it deems it necessary.
"We prefer the language of diplomacy, but we also speak other languages ," Araghchi stressed.
He added that the Iranian armed forces remain on "constant readiness" to respond to any violation of the Islamic Republic's airspace, land territory, or territorial waters.
The statements come at a time of high tension in the Persian Gulf, where the Strait of Hormuz remains one of the most strategic corridors for global energy trade.
