The Chief of General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Eyal Zamir, stated that the Israeli military remains ready to take new actions against Tehran if the situation requires it.
"We are prepared to return and carry out another heavy and comprehensive attack against Iran," Zamir said during a visit to military exercises in northern Israel.
According to him, the latest operation against Iranian targets does not constitute the end of the confrontation, but a preliminary phase of a broader military strategy.
"The attack we carried out on Iran was preparation for a much more important and powerful strike ," said the head of the Israeli army.
Zamir also spoke about developments in southern Lebanon, where Israeli forces are continuing operations against Hezbollah. He stressed that the army will continue military pressure on the Iran-backed group.
"We will continue to act and deepen the damage caused to Hezbollah," declared Eyal Zamir.
The chief of staff's comments come at a time of high tensions in the Middle East, as Israel continues operations on several fronts and relations with Iran remain extremely tense.
