The airstrike came after residents were ordered to evacuate. Meanwhile, suspicions are growing in the US about a rift between Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu over Iran and the war in the region...
Israel has launched another heavy airstrike in southern Lebanon, hitting the area of Tyre, one of the country's largest and most important cities. According to Lebanese authorities, at least eight people have been killed and 32 others injured, while rescue teams continue to search through the rubble.
The attack occurred just hours after the Israeli army called on residents of Tyre and surrounding neighborhoods to urgently evacuate north of the Zahrani River.
Footage verified by the BBC shows the moment of impact in the Aabbasiyyeh area, northeast of Tyre. A large column of smoke and dust can be seen covering surrounding buildings and fields after the explosion.
Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA) reported that Israeli warplanes carried out a "heavy airstrike" on the city. So far, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has not released an official confirmation of the operation.
Tyre, located on the Mediterranean coast, is considered one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city is located in the heart of Lebanon's Shiite south, an area where Hezbollah enjoys significant support and where several Palestinian refugee camps are also located.

The attack comes at a time when regional tensions remain high, despite Washington's diplomatic efforts to avoid a wider escalation.
Speculation is also growing in the United States about disagreements between President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Although Trump has repeatedly stated that a deal with Iran may be close, many officials and analysts in Washington remain skeptical, recalling that the US president's optimism has not always been accompanied by concrete diplomatic results.

According to US media reports, the war and tensions with Iran have also affected the personal relationship between Trump and Netanyahu. However, some observers question whether these disagreements are real or partly orchestrated for domestic political consumption, particularly to appease segments of the MAGA movement base that demand that the US not get involved in new conflicts in the Middle East.
In an interview with Axios, Trump stated that he had sent a direct warning to Netanyahu regarding the possibility of a new conflict with Iran.
"Bibi, you have to be careful, otherwise you could be alone very soon ," said the American president, implying that Washington's patience is not unlimited.
However, analysts point out that despite American calls for restraint, Israel continues to act independently on the ground. The United States continues to support the Israeli military financially and logistically, and so far there has been no signal that this support could be questioned.
According to Rob Geist Pinfold, an international security expert at King's College London, the strategic differences between Washington and Tel Aviv are becoming increasingly apparent.
"Trump has been very clear that he wants a deal with Iran. In Israel, however, the ceasefire with Iran and the one with Hezbollah remain deeply unpopular," he told Al Jazeera.
While diplomacy attempts to find space for negotiations, the recent bombings in Lebanon show that the situation on the ground remains unstable and that the risk of a wider regional conflict continues to be present. / Pamphlet
